JW's love to talk themselves into believing stupidity
by Sour Grapes inwell today the watchtower conductor makes the statement that "the tv.jw.org web site is proof that we have jehovah's blessing because such an endeavor would have been impossible without his help".
of course that causes all of the bobbing heads in full agreement.
i wonder what god blessed cbs, abc, and nbc to get up and going and offer their programming?.

web site is proof that we have Jehovah's blessing because such an endeavor would have been impossible without His help
And the thousands of porn websites would have been impossible without Jehovah's help!
our being at the meeting today is proof that we have the Truth
That's just crazytalk.

Should I even bother telling someone what I think of their parenting . . . .any advice?
by skeeter1 inthe situation: a neighbor's child and mine have played together for 8 years.
her mother is a single parent, and a probable narcissist.
loves designer clothes, bentleys, money, will not date a regular joe or even a rich man who doesn't drive the right car, wear the right clothes, etc.

Do I say anything to the single mom, or is it just all wasted words?
I suspect that you'd be wasting your words, time, and energy. It would be like trying to reason with a hard-core JW.

Hi! Long time lurker finally signing up!
by LosingMyReligion inok, so the time has finally come to register an account on this site.
not that i think i have much to contribute to the discussions here, but more out of a desire to show that yet another person has learned ttatt.
i am a fader, not discussing ttatt with anyone as i know the inevitable outcome it would have.

Welcome LMR!
I was at that time not impressed by what i read here though, to me the image of apostates as bitter people was reaffirmed by what I saw here so I didn't pay any attention to any of the material readily available here.
It's hard not to be bitter once we learn TTATT. As a JW, I learned how to be bitter and hostile towards other religions, politics, business, the entire real world. As an exJW that bitterness has been sharpened and focused upon Watchtower Corp.
...hope to gradually plant small seeds in my best friend to make him wake up and see...
In case you're interested in my observations:

We have even MORE proof that Santa Claus is real:
- There are so many books and songs about him.
- We have seen not just pictures of him, but can see him in holiday parades and shopping centers.
- You can mail letters to Santa.
- Children (and some adults) all around the world believe in him and get presents from him.
- We have the testimony of myriads of elves that work with him at his North Pole workshop.
- Mrs. Claus has faithfully stayed by his side, although Santa has been rumored to have spent time with Ho-ho-hos.
- Since we know that the Grinch is real, Santa must be real.

Not only did Jesus and the first century Christians NOT wear neckties, they didn't wear pants!
Trousers have a long non-Judea-Christian history and Jesus in his prehuman existence would have been well aware of their existence and practicality. However, Jesus never wore pants or cheap polyester suits. Why? Clearly because these were associated with pagans including Chinese, Celts, Persians, etc. that were part of Satan's world. Pants were popular with warriors on horseback, so wearing pants would be as acceptable to a true christian as walking around with an AK45 slung over the shoulder.
Rumor has it that an early Church father, Antonio Morrisianium the Thirdian, condemned pants as a tool of pagan homosexuals that in the snugness of their fit caused pagan tingly sexual arousal of Christian naughty parts.

270,000 people in Builder Assist (we want to reduce this down to 30,000)
They used to boast about how they were increasing the numbers because it was all part of the training of the multitudes for all the construction to be done in the "new order". Now they're reducing the number and reference the account of Gideon reducing his army to 300.
Such spin doctors to point to decreases as proof of blessing and growth.

NEW LIGHT ALERT! TARGET 2015 END TIMES! EVE WAS CREATED 40 YEARS AFTER ADAM! THE END IS NEAR!
by Trailer Park Pioneer inthis is going around the kingdom halls now, i thought it was a hoax but are not all the end time dates produced by the organization some hoax or con?
the reason why the end did not come in 1975 was the watchtower society had not put eve's creation in their equation.
i was told when we had a "meet and greet" if "we knew the date of eve's creation we would know the year jehovah was going to destroy the earth.. it's been 40 years since 1975, can you believe it's been 40 years since "stay alive till 1975!"?

Muddy:
on why 40 years - well, in some of the WT publications, mention is made that 40 years seems to be a biblical precedent for maturity (spiritual maturity) and development.
Actually, 30 years was considered important for maturity. Jesus was 30 when he supposedly began preaching and was based on the Hebrew standard. 40 years was considered "a generation" for those 30 and over to finally die off and be replaced by the next generation.
I was in bethel in 2005. A gilead student explained to me about the 1975 + 30 year speculation. While they considered it "interesting" or maybe even "important", they didn't give it much cred since all the UN and false religion destruction fulfillment would take years and 2005 was already underway.
But the difference between 30 and 40 years doesn't amount to a pile of crap because big A isn't coming in 2015 either.

our publications in recent years have emphasized the lessons we can learn from Bible accounts
Their "simplification" and "Bible accounts emphasized" really just boils down to:
- Only the GB/FDS matters.
- Believe only what we tell you.
- Do exactly what we tell you.
- Give all your money to us.

He said I should know better. He said it's all lies and I should know better.
The bottom line is, that's exactly the type of thought-stopping that's cults use.
I spent decades aggressively telling others that THEY needed to critically examine the beliefs and practices of THEIR religions. Yet, I was indoctrinated that critically examining MY JW religion was bad and I should know better.
Can't "the truth" defend itself from examination and criticism? Truth can. Watchtower trooth cannot. Their "nulite" has to continually run away, hide, re-nulite itself, in an effort to escape from the real truth about their false prophecies and greedy materialism. Take off the cult goggles and you see JWs and their GB for what they are--a cult.
